Berkeley Chess Isle of Lewis Second Edition Cardinal Chess Men

The expert craftsmen at Berkeley Chess have sculpted these fantastic Second Edition Isle Of Lewis Chessmen; a refined and detailed evolution of the timeless originals. The origins of the famous Lewis Chessmen are not fully understood, but historians believe that they originated in Norway. Lying for centuries in a stone chest, the pieces were eventually unearthed in 1831 on the Isle Of Lewis coastline. The originals are on display between the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and The British Museum in London. The enigmatic beauty of the original sculptures has been developed and sculpted into these fabulous pieces, which are coloured with a rich red and cream stone resin composite. A truly beautiful design which is sure to take pride of place in any room.
