Lotus Flower Hand Carved Chess Pieces in Sheesham Wood

Painstakingly hand carved. Stunning sheesham pieces. Imposing 5.5″ (139mm) king. Felted bases. Ideal on a 20″(50 cm) board. There are no other pieces in the Regency Chess Collection that are as intricately carved as the Lotus Flower Pieces. The hours that go into making the chess pieces cannot be underestimated, with each piece painstakingly hand carved by our master craftsmen. Every base is carved on a minute scale, creating a delicate yet robustly well made foundation for each piece. The bishops, above their base, have an ornamental lotus flower balcony from where a shoot of that recognizable, Staunton style, spherical diamond points towards the sun. On a far grander scale the king is also shaped that way, blossoming from a double lotus flower balcony to 5.5 inches in height. The pawns are perhaps the most impressive piece in this hand carved set, each of which is shaped and detailed like a totem pole.
