Crafted from single blocks of sheesham. Beautiful yet robust. Classic Staunton style. 3.75 inch (95 mm) king. Weighted and felted. Ideal for a 20 inch (50 cm) board. The British Series Chessmen are carved from single blocks of sheesham, an exotic hardwood that we also use for our luxury chess pieces. Each of these Staunton chess pieces is hand turned before the detailing process begins. The robust nature of the sheesham wood allows this detail to hold its shape for decades, ensuring that this set lasts a lifetime rather than just a few years. In an age of throwaway products we at Regency Chess are proud to offer our customers such a long lasting set of chess pieces. When you look over our website you will notice that the British Series is one of our most traditional collections, with the classic Staunton design very much honored.
