Old English Elite Ebony and Briar Luxury Chess Set

A chess piece and board combination that is bold and impressive. The lacquered briarwood and elm veneer board at almost 24 inches (60 cm) in width looks magnificent to say the least. Hand made in Italy, the quality of lacquering is the best we have ever seen and the knotting and grain of the briarwood is mesmerising. Underneath the board the lacquered veneer is mounted with felt pads to provide both protection to the board and other surfaces. To complete the set we have added our beautiful 4 inch (102 mm) Old English Elite Chessmen in Ebony, which are equally impressive, creating a chess combination that is substantial in size and sublime in quality. The Old English Elite Chessman have sleek, concave shanks and elegant wide bases which make for an ideally proportioned chess piece motif – beautifully weighted and naturally polished to a soft sheen, perfectly complementing the satin board.
