Beautifully crafted Italian red stained Erable Veneer Chess Board combined with our elegantly proportioned Sovereign Red Sandalwood pieces. The board is 20 inches in width and is presented in a stunning high gloss finish. The grain of the the erable burl is magical and contrasts beautifully with the much lighter elm. A thin ebony inlay surrounds the playing squares which complements the natural polished look of the stylish Staunton pieces. The Sovereign Series chessmen are from our prestigious Regency Collection and have been expertly crafted by the world’s finest producer using clean graded boxwood and red sandalwood. The sandalwood has been selected for its luxurious grains and tones and uniformity of the colour across the set is excellent. These sets are produced by special order in quantities of no more than ten at a time with just one knight carver used for each and every knight, this means you can expect all four knights in the set to be virtually identical, despite the fact that they have been carved by human hands.
