The Bath Rosewood and Walnut Chess Set

Beautifully ornate Staunton design. Crafted from solid rosewood. 3.75 inch (95 mm) king. Weighted for perfect balance. Bases covered with billiard cloth. Presented with a 19 inch (48 cm) walnut and maple board. The Bath Chess Set is without doubt one of our nicest and most beautiful sets of chessmen. Designed around elements of Georgian architecture from the World Heritage City of Bath, where The Regency Chess Company was formed back in 2008. Since 2009 we’ve been selling the huge 4.25” (107 mm) version of this set on our massive 24 inch (60 cm) chess boards. It seemed crazy that this set wasn’t available to enjoy in a smaller size so we’ve developed the 3.75” king version. This means that the pieces fit comfortably on a medium sized chess board and sit snugly in our solid wooden box. Each piece has been precisely crafted from fine cuts of rosewood and boxwood, weighted in the base for optimum balance and polished to a medium gloss. The board is one of our very traditional walnut chess boards that sets off the chessmen perfectly. Definitely one of our most precious and beautiful chess sets.
