The Medieval Bust hand painted themed Chess set by Italfama

Superbly ornate. Made in Italy. Beautifully crafted chessmen. 3 inch King. Presented with a 15.75 inch board. Not based on any era or characters in particular, these stone crushed resin chess men are a more literateral representation of each chess piece, presented in a unique, medieval ‘bust’ style. Typically portrayed with their focused stare, long beards and heavy metal crown, the kings are very imposing, a force to be reckoned with. Their queens too are very regal with a more feminine demeanor. Their delicate crowns adorning long, flowing hair. Although their miters are more flat, the bishops are traditionally dressed and are easily recognisable. Very ornate horse heads portray the Knights and you can imagine them performing in jousting tournaments. The pawns are brilliantly cast as menacing coats of armour whilst the rooks, as you would expect, are miniature castles. We have matched these pieces with a beautiful 15.75 inch walnut and maple board from Spain however The Medieval Bust Chess Pieces are also available without a board. This is beautiful set and conjures images of King Arthur and romantic tales of Knights and damsels in distress.
